MW4 Open Beta dates

The public Open Beta is scheduled to begin on August 28 at 10:00 AM PT and end on September 1 at 10:00 AM PT. It follows the Early Access weekend that ran from August 21 through August 25. The Beta is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC through Steam, Battle.net and Xbox on PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 during its supported access window.

Storefront installation differs by platform, but the official instructions consistently direct players to the Modern Warfare 4 Beta listing or Beta option. Confirm that the current window is live, install pending updates and restart the storefront if the Beta is not visible.

Progression and rewards

Weekend One used a Player Level cap of 20; Weekend Two raises it to 30. Player XP opens more weapons, equipment, perks, Field Upgrades and Killstreaks. Create a Class unlocks at Level 4 and supports up to 12 custom loadouts.

Player Rank, weapon unlocks and other normal Beta progression do not carry into the full game. Eligible cosmetic Beta rewards remain tied to the Activision Account that earned them and are intended to be available when Modern Warfare 4 launches.

Weapons and combat systems

The official roster lists 22 accessible weapons across nine classes. Supported weapons use Gunsmith and can earn an Apex Attachment after reaching the required weapon progression. The Multiplayer Beta also includes 10 Killstreaks, 16 available perks and a redesigned Create a Class flow.
